What I Thought Success Was

There was a time in my life when I thought I knew what success looked like. I thought success was loud. I thought it was money, titles, big meetings, big announcements, big moments that everyone could see and applaud.
I thought success looked like arriving somewhere and finally being able to say,
“I made it.”
But life has a way of teaching you things that no one can teach you with words. And now I understand something different.
Success is not the car. Success is not the house. Success is not the title. Success is walking into your life and feeling at peace. Success is knowing you didn’t give up. Success is knowing you built something that will live longer than you. Success is helping other people tell their stories. Success is purpose.
This magazine, this publishing house, this life I am building this is success to me. Not because it is big. But because it is meaningful. Because it is peaceful. Because it is mine. (:
And speaking of success, can we talk about this little long yellow maxi dress? I absolutely love this dress. Wore it last night and I had so many compliments.
