The First Step: Why We’re Expanding to Destin

The First Step: Why We’re Expanding to Destin

There are moments in life when something speaks to your heart before it ever makes sense on paper.

When I visited Destin for the first time, I couldn’t explain it. There was something about the coast that kept pulling me in. The peacefulness of the water, the beauty of the sunsets, the slower pace of life, it all felt different.

One evening, while walking through the area, I noticed something that stayed with me long after I returned home. People were craving connection. Genuine connection. The kind that brings people together, creates friendships, opens doors, and reminds us that we were never meant to do life alone.

I watched families enjoying time together. I watched professionals gathering after work. I watched people simply being present.

And something inside me said, “There’s room for more of this.” What made the trip even more special was seeing it through my son’s eyes. Matthew loved every minute of it. So did I. For the first time in a long time, I felt completely at peace.

When I returned home, I couldn’t stop thinking about Destin. The feeling stayed with me. The vision stayed with me. The possibility stayed with me. So I called a meeting with my team and shared what had been on my heart.

“We’re opening an office in Destin.”

It sounded bold. Maybe even a little crazy.

But sometimes the greatest opportunities begin with a single step of faith.

For several days, I prayed, meditated, and asked God for guidance. I wanted to be sure this wasn’t simply excitement from a beautiful trip. I wanted clarity.

Little by little, the vision became clearer. The logo was created. The plans began coming together. And today, I’m excited to share that Coastal Connections Destin is becoming a reality.

We’re opening an office right on Grand Boulevard and building something centered around community, relationships, and meaningful connections.

As I write this, I’m preparing for a solo trip back to Destin in 13 days to finalize the details and continue laying the foundation for what’s ahead.

The truth is, I don’t know exactly what the future holds. I don’t know every challenge we’ll face or every opportunity that will come our way. What I do know is that sometimes God places something on your heart for a reason. Sometimes you have to trust the feeling. Sometimes you have to take the first step before you can see the entire path. And that’s exactly what we’re doing.

This is more than an expansion. It’s a new chapter. A new community. A new opportunity to bring people together. And I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.

Destin, we’re coming.
