The Sunset That Confirmed I Was Exactly Where I Was Meant to Be

The Sunset That Confirmed I Was Exactly Where I Was Meant to Be
There are moments in life that quietly change everything.
Not because the world sees them, but because your heart does.
This week, I unlocked the door to my office on the executive floor in Destin, Florida, and for the very first time, I sat in complete silence. No meetings. No phone calls. Just me, my dreams, and a breathtaking sunset pouring through my office window.
I couldn’t stop smiling.
I looked out at the sky painted in shades of gold, orange, and pink, and quietly thanked God.
Just a short time ago, I had no idea where this path would lead. I simply kept saying yes to the opportunities He placed before me. I didn’t know the road ahead. I didn’t have every answer. I just trusted the One who did.
Sometimes faith doesn’t hand us the entire map.
It simply asks us to take the next step.
As I sat there, I found myself wondering…
Could Destin become my home one day?
It’s a question I never imagined asking.
Yet every visit makes this beautiful coastal community feel a little more familiar. A little more like home.
One of the highlights of my week was meeting the mayor and his wonderful wife. We had the opportunity to connect, exchange phone numbers, and talk about the vision behind Coastal Connections Destin.
They were genuinely excited to hear about what we’re building and shared that they plan to attend our inaugural event on October 10th.
Moments like these remind me that when you’re walking in purpose, God has a way of connecting you with the right people at the right time.
That evening, after work, I changed into one of my favorite little red beach outfits and headed to the shoreline just before sunset for dinner. If you know me, you know evenings on the beach have become one of my favorite parts of every trip to Destin.
The sound of the waves. The warm breeze. The peaceful rhythm of the Gulf. It’s where I slow down. It’s where I pray. It’s where I remember why I started this journey in the first place.
Building a company has never been just about publishing books or hosting events.
It’s about building something that serves people.
It’s about creating places where strangers become friends, authors become family, and businesses become part of a thriving community.
Our October 10th event is the beginning of that vision in Destin.
As I continue planting roots through IWFN Publishing and Coastal Connections Destin, I don’t know exactly what the future holds.
Maybe this city becomes my second home. Maybe one day it becomes my permanent one. Only God knows. But I do know this. Every sunset outside my office window reminds me that beautiful things happen when we trust the journey, even before we understand the destination.
If this season has taught me anything, it’s that faith isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about taking the next step, even when the path isn’t completely clear.
Looking back, I realize none of this happened by accident. The office. The sunset. The beach walks. The incredible people I’ve met along the way. Every moment has been another reminder that God is writing a story far greater than anything I could have planned on my own.
And if this week is any indication of what’s ahead…
I can’t wait to see what He writes next.
